about
On the 29th September, a group of humans who are interested in the state of the world’s oceans joined us for the 'Experience the State of our Ocean' event.

Over 70% of our planet is water but being land-based creatures, we seem a bit unaware of what that truly means for our species, and are polluting our oceans at an alarming rate.

This event was designed to educate, inspire and empower people to take action as a guardian of planet earth - starting close to home, with the Hauraki Gulf.

Conscious Action and the community got aboard the Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safari vessel on a super sunny day, for a 3-hour inner island cruise where we got to experience the beauty of the Gulf as well as hear from three incredible marine biologists who educated us about ocean plastics, the underwater food, the rising ocean temperatures and much much more.
We brainstormed ideas about what we could do as individuals to help protect our oceans and each came up with an action that we could take to have a more positive impact.
